About NAKERMU
Nigerian Army Kurudu Estate Residents Muslim Ummah
Who We Are
The Nigerian Army Kurudu Estate Residents Muslim Ummah (NAKERMU), located in Kurudu, Abuja, is a vibrant Islamic organisation established to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim population within the Estate and nearby communities.
Our membership comprises Muslim residents of the Estate, including public servants, Armed Forces personnel (both serving and retired), technocrats, professionals, and private individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by shared faith and community values.
Since inception, NAKERMU has focused on building strong religious foundations through quality Islamic education, da'awah, and community service. The organisation has successfully established Islamiyyah and Tahfeez schools for children, women, and adults, and actively runs programs that uplift the needy, especially during Ramadan.
NAKERMU has through voluntary contributions from members and other donours, built a standard masjid and Islamiyyah school complex which have reached advanced levels of completion. However, there is still much to be done to finally complete the projects. The following work is still outstanding: burial preparation area, installation of solar facilities, provision of toilet facilities to replace the temporary ones being used, landscaping and provision of modest staff quarters for Islamiyyah teachers among others.
